Curbside Garbage Service

Yard waste should be bagged or placed in cans not exceeding 50 pounds. Bagged yard waste should be placed curbside next to cart. Branches should be placed curbside in bundles measuring no more than 4′ x 4′ x 4′ and under 50 pounds.

The Fort Bend County Recycling Center accepts glass, scrap metal, paper, plastics, Styrofoam, antifreeze, car/truck batteries, oil filters, used motor oil, cooking oil and rechargeable batteries free of charge.

How Do I Dispose of Yard Waste? Since it is illegal to dispose of yard waste with regular garbage in the state of Illinois, disposal companies offer a yard waste pick up service at the curb. There are many types of yard waste accepted at the curb from April 1st – November 30th.

Solid waste facilities are places where household garbage and other types of waste are collected, processed, or stored. These include landfills, transfer stations, and composting facilities. The waste can come from homes, industry or commercial sources.

Check collection centers and curbside pickup services to see what they accept and begin collecting these materials. These can include metal cans, newspapers, paper products, glass, plastic and oil. Put the recyclable materials in a bin at a recycle center or in your single stream recycling bin at home.

When in doubt, leave it out! Heavy Trash: Each week, Texas Pride Disposal will collect up to three bulky items such as furniture, appliances or objects that cannot fit in the garbage cart.

Curbside Disposal

Residents may place small yard waste that will fit inside a bag, such as leaves, shrubbery, small branches, weeds and grass, into clear yard bags. These items will only be removed on your scheduled bulk removal dates and only when placed in clear bags.

Yard trimmings can be composted in your backyard composting system, or taken to one of the locations listed below for composting. Fees may apply; contact the location for details. Local trash haulers also offer seasonal yard trimmings collection from April-November for an extra fee. Contact your hauler to sign up.

Yard Waste

Leaves and grass must be bagged and left at the curb (off the street) for once-a-week pickup. Brush and limbs may be left at the curb and placed in piles no more than 6 ft in length and 4 in in diameter and no more than 4 ft high. No individual item of yard trash may weigh more than 50 pounds.
